Ingredients:

3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
¼ cup shortening or soft butter
1 cup milk (a little more may be needed for right consistency)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
3. Cut in shortening with pastry blender till it resembles coarse cornmeal.
4. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture, add all of the milk at one time and stir with a fork until no flour shows and a soft dough forms.
5. Form biscuits with a biscuit ring or the top of a cup.
6. Put the baking sheet on the center rack of the oven.
7. Bake until the biscuits are golden brown.
