1 cup Premium Gold® Gluten Free Flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 stick butter, softened 1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp. sugar 1 large egg 2 tsp. vanilla 2/3 cup milk
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and place rack in center of oven. Grease and flour two 9 inch round pans.In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add egg and beat until combined. Add vanilla and beat again.Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk to the butter/sugar mixture and mix until smooth.Evenly pour the batter into cake pans and bake for 25-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. When cool, frost with favorite chocolate frosting.
Tip: Double the recipe and use two cake pans and frost between layers and outside of cake. Add colored decorating sprinkles for seasonal or special celebrations.
